WHAT? RATIONAL THOUGHT FROM DEMOCRATS?
Thursday, April 05, 2007
I'M SURPRISED--BUT PLEASANTLY SO. No more GWOT, House committee decrees - Military News, news from Iraq, photos, reports from the war - Military Times: "No more GWOT, House committee decrees By Rick Maze - Staff writer Posted : Wednesday Apr 4, 2007 16:11:56 EDT The House Armed Services Committee is banishing the global war on terror from the 2008 defense budget. This is not because the war has been won, lost or even called off, but because the committee’s Democratic leadership doesn’t like the phrase. A memo for the committee staff, circulated March 27, says the 2008 bill and its accompanying explanatory report that will set defense policy should be specific about military operations and “avoid using colloquialisms.”"

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
