...OR WHAT YOUR POSITION IS ON THE WAR, ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND COULD ONLY LABEL THIS GUY AS NUTS.My Way News - Reid Offers Bleak Assessment of Iraq War: "WASHINGTON (AP) - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday the war in Iraq is 'lost,' triggering an angry backlash by Republicans, who said the top Democrat had turned his back on the troops. The bleak assessment - the most pointed yet from Reid - came as the House voted 215-199 to uphold legislation ordering troops out of Iraq next year."

Why? For speaking the truth? The war is lost. And the best way to support our troops is to bring them home NOW, not in 2008.

I have just one scenario to share, Helen.

Say you have a son in Iraq who is assigned there for the next 5 months (this is the shortest withdrawal deadline, but everyone agrees it is not realistic nor will it happen) and he is in the trenches.

He has endured more than the rest of us cannot imagine, but he keeps going on because he believes that he is making a difference--he is defending his family, friends and homeland.

He flips on the radio and hears the majority leader of the United States say, "The war is lost."

Or--"Soldier, YOU have lost this war for the United States."

What would that do to him?

The problem I have with our politicians like Reid is that they think primarily of themselves and their own political futures. Reid wants to lose, he wants the troops to come home in defeat--its supports his political future. His statement should have been made to the President in private, or circulated to his colleagues in private--his public statement makes his motivation obvious.

Reid would get his opportunity soon enough to spit on the soldiers in person, but he couldn't wait.

I have friends in Iraq. I seriously doubt Reid does. What a pitiful, little man.

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
