Sickening. Maybe they can team up with the Westboro Baptist Church. And at least Westboro has the excuse of having severe mental illness. This is just pure hatred and nothing else.

    Truly, Dan.

The most interesting comment I read following these pictures was:

"So I guess Iraq is turning into Vietnam--at least on the home front"

    Interesting world we live in.

I'm with Helen. I've never supported this war, but many of my friends and family serve in the military and I obviously support them. Probably the biggest reason I never enlisted is because I knew it would be difficult for me to reconcile fighting for what I thought was an unjust cause. I knew, however, that if I joined I would fight regardless of my opinions because that's what it means to be in the military. It takes extraordiary dedication.

Do you know where these protests took place, out of curiosity?

    Hi Helen & Smorg!

These took place in Portland, Oregon. Of course after Berkeley, that would have been anyone's first guess. ha! The problem is what these people do for the cause of people who actually are against something for possibly valid causes. These type of people, and the John Kerry (if you don't get a college education you'll end up a dumb soldier) types seem to be setting the standard for the side of the issue. The other side thinks that these people are just typical of every liberal--that they are just brave enough to say what most liberals really feel. Of course I realize that is wrong.

If I were a liberal blogger or webmaster, I would post these pictures with every condemnation of my being--only then may the word be heard that these types were not representative of mainstream left views. I do it when the likes of Pat Robertson calls for the assassination of Hugo Chavez or something that out of line, but I don't see a lot of it happening on the left who remain quiet and let the frame the debate.

You, me, Dan--we understand this, but what about mainstream America?

    Regards,

    -Jack

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
