LIES
Friday, March 16, 2007
THE AMERICAN PUBLIC SEEMS TO BE AFRAID TO USE THE TERM "LIE" WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING LIKE THE MEDIA. WHILE MEDIA BIAS CAN TAKE MANY FORMS, THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IT IS ESSENTIALLY A LIE. 84% OF AMERICANS THINK SO. THAT MEANS THAT ALL OF THE NONSENSE YOU ARE READING ABOUT POLITICS, SOCIETY, RELIGION AND ECONOMICS IS A BUNCH OF BOSH. CARE TO RETHINK YOUR POSITION ON PARTY POLITICS, GLOBAL WARMING, THE ECONOMY? NAH, I DIDN'T THINK SO. MEDIA BIAS EXISTS BECAUSE WE LET IT. WE WANT IT, WE BUY IT. WE WOULD RATHER FEEL GOOD THAN BE RIGHT. OH WELL...

Poll: Bias 'alive and well' in press - Nation/Politics - The Washington Times, America's Newspaper: "The vast majority of American voters detect the presence of political bias in the mainstream news media, according to a Zogby poll released yesterday in conjunction with the George Washington University Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet. Hi Whig!

Good to hear from you as always.

I surprise most when I say this, because I am often labeled as a "conservative" (I am, but not in a contemporary sense--I am more an "originalist"), but I have no idea why marijuana is not legal. To me is seems like the greatest hypocricy in the world to limit something like marijuana while legalizing something like alcohol. It is a double standard.

Believe it or not, I wouldn't have a problem with the legalization of all drugs.

The reason we will never see this, though, Whig, is because of socialized medicine. As an originalist, I believe in personal responsibility and with personal responsibility comes freedom. Because of our country's push toward socialism and things like social medicine, then the public will dictate to individuals what they can and can't do. The will refuse to legalize drugs because they will not want to pay for medical problems (addictions, dependence, etc.) associated with them.

We'll discuss this more when we have the time, Whig. You and I may think more alike than you realize!

    Take care,

    -Jack

Whig, the truth is paramount. On the subject of cannabis you may be more of an expert about it than I. I don't know much about it. But if there are scientifically verified facts about there it should be anyone's right to know.

Is there a lot of reporting on the topic out there?

    -Jack

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
