In all seriousness, this was a question posed to my Democrat friends who are rejoicing at yet another Republican scandal. I figured, though, since the Democrat platform was for the gay agenda, and the leniency on pedofiles, that most of them would understand now that Mark had confessed and give him a pass. Think so?

A little sarcasm there, Helen. Actually it was a reactional post about what I read on a lot of the liberal blogs and sites. I was being a little tongue-in-cheek when I mentioned that everything should be ok now that Foley has confessed to being gay. :) It was my challenge to the liberal blogs to be more..."understanding". (You know my silly sense of humor!).

Good to hear from you!
As you know the Snipet is all about making fun of the absurdities in the news. One of the points you mention, WSC is that it is not a political issue. Of course it is--the Democrats are predicting the demise of the Republican party--and most of the liberal sites I have visited are wagging their finger and saying that this is indicative of all Republicans. Because of the nature of my blog, I use it to point out these inconsistencies. Like you, WSC, I am neither Democrat or Republican--most of what I post, though, is about Democrats because they make themselves such easy targets. :)
Additionally, I keep my finger on the pulse of many issues in modern America--not so long ago the National Psychiatry Association removed pedophilia from the deviant sexual activity category--quite a while ago they had done that with homosexuality. I have several friends who are in psychology and psychiatry and most of them consider themselves "liberal". The greater majority of them ally themselves to the Democrat Party. A close personal friend of mine who is a psychologist, indicated that pedophilia is a natural sexual response, just like homosexuality, bestiality, etc.---something someone is born with--requiring study, not penalty. I figured that if anyone was going to try to "understand" Foley, it was going to be liberals and Democrats, but I guess they are taking a raincheck this time because of their partisanship.
Still want to think that they aren't looking at this as political opportunity to take down the competition:

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".
Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.
Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.
In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
