And how is being "against terrorism" but knowing war will not solve the problem something to poke fun at? "A determined fight based on vigilance at all times" sounds so logical. Too bad the US can't wage a non-violent fight against terror.

    Helen,

Admittedly, this has always been a difficult one for me.

I know that Muslims crashed planes into our building killing many Americans. They did it in my back yard. On a personal level, I have had an ant problem in my home lately where fire ants (you know those!) have actually made it into my house and bitten me. I have waged all out war on the fire ants in my yard to prevent further invasion and remove the threat to me and my family.

Carrying that a bit further, if I saw a man with a gun coming across my lawn, heading for my door, I would present my own, and if he failed to stop I would stop him. I would not tolerate a threat against my wife or children. I say this because I believe that security is something one should provide their family and the Bible says that "he that won't provide for his family is worse than an infidel".

Now I realize we are comparing micro to macro, but to say that removing people who threaten good and honest citizens from society is not a good thing is something I do not understand. When police take in a criminal, they sometimes have to employ violence to stop the violence of that person. This is the evil reality of the world we live in. I see this applicable to terrorist who want to kill millions of Americans--they employ violence, and no degree of speaking or reasoning with them will help. (Otherwise 9/11 would have never happened).

Now I realize we can get into all the conspiracy issues (which may or may not be true) such as the reason they hate us is because of foreign policy (supporting Israel--which is probably true), zionism, etc., etc. but the fact of the matter is, when terrorists are indiscriminate in their killing (and yes, the American military has been guilty of this too) then something has to be done to stop it.

Well, enough of my rambling, so I will turn it back over to you. If we do not use violent means to subdue these people, then what specific methods do you think we could employ that would make a difference? Do you think there may be ways that we could? I am against violence too, so I'm open.

    -Jack

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
