Someone had to fill out that "crowd," I guess.

I followed you over from Bookworm's site, since your acknowledgement that you have left-leaning friends whom you respect gained you instant ethos with me.
I would like to use the Cindy pictures in my Freshman Composition class--do I ask permission from you, or are the pictures readily available on the web?

Hi EP!
Thanks for stopping by the Snipet!
I have been a media skeptic for years. I picked up this picture public domain so it is as much yours as mine.
Where do you teach?

Forgive me--I don't like to reveal my university to the blogosphere, because I want the freedom to say whatever I want without it reflecting on my institution. Would you be satisfied with "a private liberal arts university in Texas"?
-
My apologies! I meet a fellow academic and get excited. I did a two year tour in the Penn State system. Enjoyed teaching!
Would love to have you visit from time to time--the Snipet appreciates all viewpoints!

As an English major and media skeptic, confused as all hell about the current state of the world and where we are headed, the professor's voice is a good one to have around.
-
No problem, Jack. I don't post as often as you do, but I'd certainly welcome a visit (and from you, too, chickenhawk).
My committee chair came from Penn State--great school!

CH,
Or, if there were a sympathy in choice, War, death, or sickness did lay siege to it, Making it momentany as a sound, Swift as a shadow, short as any dream, Brief as the lightning in the collied night, That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth, And ere a man hath power to say 'Behold!' The jaws of darkness do devour it up: So quick bright things come to confusion. WS
EP, look forward to future conversation!

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".
Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.
Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.
In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
