Open season on guns in D.C.
Tuesday, June 14, 2005
Open season on guns in D.C.: "The same anti-gun-at-any-price folks look with horror at Virginia, where a recent fad has been to wear guns openly. But they never bother to check Virginia's gun-crime statistics, which make the "gun-free" District look like a killing zone."

Any article about peaceful gun nuts just kind of gives you an inappropriate level of satisfaction and, dare I say it, glee. Eh, Jack?

I should go shooting this weekend. I think I have some rounds left...

    Ha! You got it, Fly!

In Japan they know their place, Toad. Little girls are the playthings of Japanese businessmen and women are geisha. I've been there. Its a rotting stink of human rights abuses coupled with technology. No crime, because raping a child isn't one...

So your solution is to give the kids a gun?

Ok fine, Australia, Germany, UK, France. Look at the gun laws there, and the amount of guns they have and then look at their gun death rate. You will conclude that less guns means less gun deaths.

Now, look at Columbia, The Congo, Angola, South Africa and the US where guns are prevalent and tell me the difference in gun deaths and crime rates between these countries and the ones I mentioned above.

There are far fewer automobile related deaths in Papua New Guinea compared to the United States. I think its time we should do something about that!

There are less cars there, my point exactly. More cars mean more car deaths, more guns, mean more gun deaths. With your logic you would conclude that more cars mean fewer accidents. As you pointed out, that is not the case.

And guess what, we have seatbelt laws, speed limit laws and traffic signals and laws to reduce those number of deaths. That is all we are asking for, a few laws that would reduce the numbers of deaths.

No one said you couldn't go hunting with the guys anymore.

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
