MODERATION - HOORAH!
Tuesday, February 15, 2005
In my daily internet travels I have run across one of the most hilarious posts and discussion strings I have seen in some time. If you have a chance, go to Democratic Underground What is so funny is that these people are praising Dean's "moderation" when moderation is not what this site is all about! DU does not want moderation in regards to the abortion issue, the gun control issue, gay marriage issue or anything else? Why then would they be upholding Dean by way of Paul Krugman's NY Times opinion piece? Democrats, do you know that Howard Dean is and was supported by the NRA and won its seal of approval for advocating gun ownership and relaxed gun legislation? Democrats, do you know that Dean advocating cutting taxes and social spending? Democrats, do you know that Dean is against generational welfare and many social programs? Makes me wonder if abortion is the only litmus test an individual has to pass in order to move forward in the Democrat Party... Are Democrats becoming...Republicans? I look forward to the Democrat's move toward moderation.

Moderation is a fatal thing. . . . Nothing succeeds like excess. Author: Oscar Wilde

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
