ELEMENTARY -- YES, REALLY
Wednesday, January 12, 2005
Since I have traveled the web I have met many people. I find that many people talk about things they know nothing about--repeating what they hear others say, without giving much thought or study to it themselves. I have been guilty of this on the occasion myself. Several years back when the Snipet began, its job was to provoke thought and at times, educate. There were several instructional issues of the Snipet that were repeatedly requested after their publication, and over the next couple of weeks, the Snipet will try to republish some "Snipet Classics". As some of these are long, they will be posted on the main website; however a link will be provided here on the blog. The first classic is to educate the general public on the term "Budget Surplus". The object of all Snipet articles was to simplify what others try to obfuscate and complicate. If you benefit from the Snipet Classics, please let me know, and I will continue to post them. P.S. I LOVE ALL feedback. Not just agreement (although I like this too). Lefty, don't hesitate to take on anything on this site--its all fair game, and the Snipet is ALWAYS willing to learn. http://www.newssnipet.com/budgets.html

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
