Alright, in a nutshell: God decided that whatever the sins of Sodom were, they were so abhorant that the city was better off destroyed. Abraham argues that if even 10 righteous people can be found, Sodom should be spared. So, two angels appear in the town square, intending to spend the night out in the open. Lot, apparently knowing his town pretty well, pleads with the men to take refuge in his house. They oblige, but it is no matter: all of the men of the town appear and demand the strangers be sent out so that they can rape them. (Even hetero men in the time raped other men as a form of severe subjugation.) When Lot protests, the men use the fact that Lot is an "outsider" as reason enough to threaten him w/ rape as well. So, I dunno, may the sin of Sodom was inhospitality inhospitality & rape.
Whatever it was, God had decided that Sodom should be destroyed well before this much-discussed event had happened. And in Ezekial 16:49-50, Sodom's sins are described this way: "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. "

Exactly, Lefty! Therefore God destroyed Sodom because of sin. Thats my point--Jerry F. surmised that judgement may have come upon this nation as a result of sin; something that has been recorded in the Bible. I don't think that this is the same as blaming a tsunami on someone's nuclear experiments. :)

The only problem with that argument is that Sodom was destroyed before the time of Jesus, the new covenant.

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.
Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.
In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
