ASIAN TSUNAMI GIVING
Monday, January 03, 2005
Liberals (the friends of the French) were quick to criticize the United States and its government for giving to little to aid in the Asian Tsunami crisis. France pledged $100,000 dollars (yes, that's thousand), which is $900,000 less than Sandra Bullock gave to relief efforts. The French immediately buckled under criticism and Chirac said that they have pledged additional aid in the form of some nice red wine, a baguette and a little cheese. Hat tip: Pam

Hey Jack, if you're going to make fun of the French, it may as well be with some accurate information. Link/Shameless plug.

Of course, the U.S. has since upped the ante, and Japan has pledged half a billion dollars. Also, the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps team has deployed to assist in relief operations; the Charles de Gaulle is reportedly still docked somewhere on the French coast, collecting dust and irradiating Frenchmen.

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".

Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.

Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.

In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
