Atheist sues to prevent prayer at inauguration
I guess he wants passages from Mein Kampf or the Communist Manifesto read instead.
If it wasn't so sad, it would almost be funny. |

This jerkweek is the same guy who threw his daughter into a national anti-religious debate -- against her will.
This sanctimonious prick offers up the platitude of seperation of church and state, but in reality, it's just a cheap stunt for his own self-aggrandizement. It's an ego trip, all about him.

Ah, but not every president has used a Bible in the ceremony, and even Washington, his second time around, made no mention of any higher being. The point is that the right to file that case is sacrosanct, even if others find it silly. Indeed, if the tradition were reversed, and a president-elect wanted a prayer, those supporting him would likely sue for that right. Welcome to America.

For a guy who's so quick to use the American government in an attempt to get his way, Michael Newdow is almost criminally ignorant of American history, culture, and political heritage.
I wonder if he even realizes that he's building up judicial capital against himself by generating a great deal of case history (the legal term escapes me at the moment) against his cause.

The word is "precedence", Fly...amazing observation and point!

I feel sorry for the guy. I wouldn't want to be him when he is standing before the Lord and the Lord says, "Nope, you didn't know me, I don't know you."

Yeah, that's what I was looking for. An Air Force Colonel used it in class today (he was a visiting lecturer in my Marine Corps class) and I thought, "Damn, that's the one!"

"Snipet" (pronounced: snipe - it) is not a word.It is a derivative of two words: "Snipe" and "Snippet".
Miriam Webster defines Snipe as: to aim a carping or snide attack, or: to shoot at exposed individuals (as of an enemy's forces) from a usually concealed point of vantage.
Miriam Webster defines Snippet as: : a small part, piece, or thing; especially : a brief quotable passage.
In short, "Snipets" are brief, snide shots at exposed situations from a concealed vantage point.
